List of plants: Hydrocotyle leucocephala, Sagittaria subulata, Nymphaea lotus
Description of decorations: Very similar to the tree branches that appear in habitat videos. Sand with a grain structure of 1 mm or smaller, used in beige color, completed this composition. A good contrast with the sediment of dried leaves falling from the trees. Orinoco river underwater videos followed by the horizon line, the closest color was selected and used as backdrop.

INFORMATION ABOUT BIOTOPE

Description of the area surrounding the biotope: The source of the Orinoco river was discovered in 1951 by Venezuelan researchers in Sierra Parima, near the Brazilian border. 2140 km long, one of the longest rivers in South America. This rare river bifurcated, although it advances towards the north, instead of the Caribbean Sea, the South East swirls and flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
This region, which has a delta area of 41.000 km² and a very high variety of living, includes swamp areas. It is an indicator of the change in the water level in the region where the average annual rainfall is 2700 m3 and it is the explanatory of clear waters.

Description of the underwater landscape of the biotope: The imitated region is the low-flow Orinoco river in the state of Bolivar. The flora is very rich in the area with clean water. Since the parts where mechanical and organic deposits are abundant are imitated, dried terrestrial grasses and natural materials to collect sediments are used in the aquarium.
The area, which does not have excessive debris and tree branches lying on the river floor, has large swimming areas. River water parameters have an average temperature of 5.2 – 6.5 pH, 25-30 ° C during the year.
The highest temperature of the year reaches 30 ° C in September.

Description of the parameters of the habitat: Temperature 25-30°C, pH 5,2 – 6,5, hardness(dH) 2,80 – 5,60

List of fishes and invertebrates occurring in the nature biotope: Apistogramma hongsloi, Biotodoma wavrini, Cichla orinocensis, Farlowella acus, Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, Corydoras concolor

List of plants found in the nature biotope: Eleocharis Parvula, Salvinia natans, Riccia fluitans, Cabomba furcata, Bacopa monnieri

Threats to the ecology: Orinoco, which has the most powerful river systems in the world, is relatively robust compared to many other rivers. But the pink river dolphins that are unique here are under great threat. Their numbers are gradually decreasing. Unless measures are taken due to pollution, boat traffic, fishing and dams, this will pose a major threat.
