Malaysia. Borneo swamp

The 48th place in the qualifying stage of the Biotope Aquarium Design Contest 2013

Austria. Anton Lamboj

Volume: 60 L
List of fishes: Betta ocellata
List of plants: Microsorum pteropus
Biotope description: The small aquarium is for breeding Bettas, at moment B. ocellata. It is built like some shore area in a Malaysian or Borneo creek. Like all my tanks more simple, but also in these creeks, often plants are just on the outer edge (like the Microsorum on left slide) and in the middle just stones, sand, and some branches or roots.

I gave this nice small and well decorated – close to the natural habitat of this Betta species – aquarium a much better position than all other judges. The simple and close to nature of the species (where hardly any other fish lives) is very nice.
