Location: Rio Parana drainage, Arroyo Aguapey, brig on route 1 near Coronel Bogado, Paraguay. Gps coordinate: -27.1383, -56.2928. Catch method: beach seine. Field nummer: PAR-98-07. Localition remarks: dark brown water, current, grass and gramalote (probably Echinocloa polystachya). Flooded stream. Shortest day of the year: 10.26. Longest day of the year: 13.52. Differince between the longest and shortest day of the year 3:26. List of fish which occur at this location: Corydoras hastatus, Hypoptopoma inexpectatum, Hemigrammus tridens, Phenacogaster tegatus, Aphyocharax rathbuni, Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae, Hemigrammus ulreyi, Cyphocharax spilotus, Pyrrhulina australis, Laetacara dorsigera, Apistogramma borellii, Hyphessobrycon eques, Apistogramma trifasciata, Poptella paraguayensis, Gymnogeophagus balzanii, Leporinus lacustris, Steindachneria brevipinna, Acestrorhynchus pantaneiro. To recreate the biotope I’ve used 0.4-0.8mm filtration sand as bottom. A hazelnut tree stump and beech branches to make it look like a bush growing on the floodplain. And some catappa leaves as debris. For water is use RO-water.
