Description of the area surrounding the biotope: The basin of the Tocantins River and its main tributary Araguaia are the central regions of Brazil (the states of Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Para). Amanda tetra inhabits small tributaries, small streams, small rivers, and lakes. The natural habitat usually contains soft, slightly acidic water with a sandy substrate covered with a layer of fallen leaves and twigs.

Description of the underwater landscape of the biotope: The Tocantins river gets water from rain. In the high water period, which takes place from October to April, the water level rises by 7-9 meters. Although the Tokantis and Araguaia rivers are often attributed to the Amazon basin, they form a separate river system with an area of 770,000 km.

Description of the parameters of the habitat: The river gets water from rain, in the high water period (from October to March or April) the water rises by 7-9 m. The average discharge in the estuary is 16 300 m3. The Tokantis and Araguaia rivers are often referred to the Amazon basin, although formally they form a separate river system with an area of 770 thousand square km (or more than 800 thousand square km).

Threats to the ecology: The aquarium was created to attract public attention to the fact that it is beautiful, and we began to forget about nature and increasingly pollute it.

Nice looking aquarium, but this is an aquascape aquarium, not a biotope one.
