INFORMATION ABOUT BIOTOPE
Description of the area surrounding the biotope: rio Negro is one of many water gauge of Amazon River. This river flows from Colombia to Barcelos in Brazil. In the rainy season, the swollen river flows through the forest, and when the dry season comes, a pool is formed that can be seen separately inside the Amazon rainforest.
Description of the underwater landscape of the biotope: The river, which had spread to the inside of the forest in the rainy season, has dried up in the middle in the dry season and remains a pool. The puddles formed inside the forest have tree roots exposed to water, and since there is not much of water there, leaves and thin branches of the rainforest sink and cover the floor. The water becomes a very dark blackwater by these sediments. The sand on the floor is as fine as mud.
Description of the parameters of the habitat: In rainy season average temperature is 23°C Ph is about 6 but, In dry seasob average temperature is 28°C ph is 4~6.
List of fishes and invertebrates occurring in the nature biotope: Hemigrammus bleheri, Paracheirodon, apistogramma, dicrossus filamentosus, dicrossus foirni, Carnegiella strigata, otocinclus, nanoatomus eques.
List of plants found in the nature biotope: Eleocharis acicularis, echinodorus tenellus, but The pool like my tank has no water plants.
Threats to the ecology: Amazon River is drying up as a serious logging. The Amazon River is called the Earth’s lungs. We need measures to protect this lungs of earth.
