Biotope description: Lachuá Lake is a Karstic lake in Guatemala. It is located in the middle of jungle in Cobán at 173 m altitude. The lake is near circular in shape and is probably a cenote or doline. It is a crystal clear lake, ph 8:55, conductivity 189 S / cm, temperature about 29 ° C, your water contains a relatively high degree of calcite and a slightly sulphurous smell. The Peyan river forms the principal water inflow and the Lachua river its main outflow.
