Aquarium Volume: 80 L
Fish and invertebrates: Poecilia reticulata Wild (F1) Venezuela
Plants list: Egeria densa
Biotope description: 5 females and 1 male wild guppies live in the aquarium, which fully meets the requirements on the composition of the water in the area of the Orinoco. Temperature is 25C, pH is jumping from 7.3 to 6.7 depending on the water change and other conditions. pH meter is electronic. In the aquarium there is river sand, river rocks, twigs with leaves of oak and oak leaves, a few roots of pine, alder cones. When changing water I pour homemade infusion of oak leaves. Fish are fed every other day, I try to give the cut sea fish eggs and a little food for guppies. Guppy behave very wild, that is very good. Guppies are very shy because of wild genetics. Females only school, constantly looking for something at the bottom, eating oak leaves and buds on the branches. The males change color like a rainbow, it’s probably because of pH differences, but usually just after water change. After the water change fish start going crazy, start games and constant swimming.
