Biotope description: Malawi biotope is a piece of one of the largest lakes in the world, African lake, located between Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania. It is also known as Lake Nyasa and Lago Niassa in Mozambique. It is the third largest lake in Africa and the ninth in the world. In tropical waters of the lake there are more fish species than in any other lake in the world. Scottish explorer and missionary David Livingstone visited Lake Malawi that’s why it is sometimes historically referred to by English-speaking people as Livingston’s Lake.
