List of fishes: Geophagus sp. Tapajos, Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi, Corydoras panda
List of plants: Echinodorus tenellus
Biotope description: The aquarium is based on Rio Tapajos biotope, Brazil. Steady flowing clear waters, slightly acidic, the biotope is characterized by fine sandy and muddy substrates, and depending on location other features include scattered boulders, submerged tree roots, branches and leaf litter with minimal vegetation.
2nd placed Tapajós biotope has very little to do with anywhere in that River, because: a) Corydoras panda live only in the upper Amazon (Peru); b) H. herbertaxelrodi are ONLY found in the Paraguay basin; c) E. tenellus never in a Geophagus habitat (cannot survive in such depth). But because it was nicely decorated I gave it the 6th place.
The design of this entry is not complicated, but look at the behavior of the fish. It is clear that they feel at home. Good quality of the photos makes a nice impression of peace and quiet in the underwater kingdom.
A very nice biotope, arranging of the elements is done very well, light and well clean designed aquarium. Unfortunately the space is small and fauna is poor.
