INFORMATION ABOUT BIOTOPE:
Description of the area surrounding the biotope: Bulungan regency is the northern part of the province of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The dense mountain tropical rainforest hides there a network of rocky streams , the stream i have chosen to present is calm except during the rainy season when it may become heavy. The stream meanders through the forest in a rocky bed and little light can penetrate the dense canopy of tropical rainforest trees so its quite dark on the ground level.
Description of the underwater landscape of the biotope: The entire streambed is littered with stones, as the stream flows slowly around the jungle so its bottom is full of leaves, sticks and other botanical debris where Betta Antuta loves to hide.
Description of the parameters of the habitat: Water us ussualy clear but can get hazy depending on the weather. PH stays around 6, the temperature varies from 20-25C due to the habitat being quite high above sea level. Despite the fact that the water flows through stonebed the hardness is pretty low. KH and Gh are 0-3
